Ingredients:
2 tbsp vegetable oil
1 kg (2.2 lb) beef stewing steak, cut into 2 cm cubes
1 large onion, diced
2 bell peppers (red and green), sliced into strips
200 g (7 oz) mushrooms, sliced (optional)
2 cloves garlic, minced
2 tbsp plain flour
300 ml (1¼ cups) beef stock
2 tbsp tomato paste
1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
1 tsp smoked paprika
Salt and freshly ground black pepper, to taste
Roll of shortcrust pastry (enough for bottom and top) or homemade pastry
1 egg, beaten (for egg wash)
