400 g (14 oz) minced meat (beef, pork or mixed)
1 medium onion, finely chopped
2 garlic cloves, minced
2 Tbsp tomato paste
1 can (400 g/14 oz) diced tomatoes (or 200 ml beef broth)
1 tsp dried oregano or mixed Italian herbs
100 ml (½ cup) milk
25 g (2 Tbsp) butter
100 g (1 cup) grated cheese (cheddar or mozzarella), optional
2 Tbsp vegetable oil
Salt and freshly ground black pepper, to taste
