Potato stew with minced meatballs

– stuffing [350g minced meat + salt, black pepper, a pinch of cumin, an egg, breadcrumbs soaked in milk, a chopped onion, chopped parsley and coriander, 2 chopped garlic cloves], shape into balls and set aside.

– 1 kg of potatoes cut into thick slices

– a small chopped onion

– 1 piece of lamb fat.

– 5 cloves of garlic marinated in olive oil then chopped

– 4 or 5 tbsp sunflower oil

– salt, black pepper, paprika, 1 heaped tbsp of dersa (= mixture of 1 chopped garlic head + 1/2 tsp caraway + paprika + salt + red chili), 1/2 cube of mutton and 1/2 cube of chicken.

– 1 grated tomato.

In a saucepan, fry the sunflower oil, the lamb fat, the onion, the garlic, and the cubes over low heat for 5 minutes. Add the tomato and spices.

Step: 2

Place the potato slices and pour hot water to the level of the vegetables.

Step: 3

Cover and simmer. 10 minutes before the end of cooking, gently stir in the meatballs, sprinkle with chopped parsley and cook over medium-low heat until the sauce reduces.

Serve with a good salad and especially some good warm homemade bread.
