Add the sugar and oil: Gradually add the sugar and continue beating until the mixture is well combined. Slowly pour in the vegetable oil while mixing.
Add the orange juice and zest: Whisk together the fresh orange juice and orange zest.
Combine the dry ingredients: In a separate bowl, sift together the flour and baking powder. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture, mixing gently until combined.
Pour into the pan: Pour the batter into the prepared cake pan and smooth the top.
Bake: Bake in the preheated oven for 35-40 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
Cool and decorate: Let the cake cool in the pan for 10 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely. Drizzle with honey and sprinkle with coconut flakes before serving.
