1. Urine color. If you notice that your urine is darker than usual, yellow, or even brown, you should drink water immediately. 2. Frequency of bowel movements. Do you only use the bathroom once or twice a day? Do you just go out every few hours? If so, start drinking more water. Normally, you should have six to eight bowel movements per day, depending on how much water you drink.
