Homemade canned tomatoes, just like my grandmother used to make: that’s how I preserve them all year round!

This is one of those things I make every summer, when the tomatoes are ripe, red, fragrant… in short, when they still have their authentic flavor. It’s not complicated, but it does require a little patience and attention. But in the end, it’s worth it, because opening a jar in the middle of winter and smelling that aroma of basil and garlic… well, it’s like going back to July for a moment.
